Hi, I am Dana Wiley, and I am proud to announce that I am running in the April 2025 election for the D158 Board of Education. My leadership, honesty, integrity, creativity, business acumen, patience, and philanthropic passion have certainly prepared me to continue in my role as a D158 School Board member.

My Family: My family and I made our home here in 2004 because we felt this was the best place to raise our family with a solid public education and strong community values. My husband Tom and I have been married for 27 years, and we have raised all three of our kids in this school district - from ECC through HHS. We have been proud to see them all really enjoy their time in D158 in their own individual ways.

Our oldest son graduated from HHS in 2021 and currently attends University of Iowa. He will graduate with degrees in Accounting and Finance in December 2025. Our middle son graduated  from HHS in 2023; he currently attends University of Missouri with plans to be a secondary school teacher. Our youngest daughter is currently a junior at HHS and is involved in the medical academy and recently completed a dual degree CNA program at MCC this fall. We cannot be prouder of our three kids- they are the reason for all that we do. And we know the education and experiences they had here in D158 is what prepared them for their future goals.

My Experience: While working full-time outside the home, I have also been heavily involved in our community for the past 17 years. As our children grew up, I found ways to stay involved through various school and community efforts. I have been active in the following groups:

• Chesak Martin PTA President
• D158 Strategic Planning Committee
• D158 Elementary Parent Advisory Committee
• D158 Dual Language Committee
• Girls on the Run Coach
• McHenry County Board of Education
• St. Mary’s Catholic Church Religious Education Program
• Huntley Mustangs Youth Football Fundraising Chair
• Huntley Youth Lacrosse Volunteer
• HHS Athletic Boosters Concession Chair
• HHS Varsity Football Volunteer

My goals: I have a deep appreciation for this District, our families, students, and the staff.  Many teachers and staff I am lucky enough to call friends. I love feeling that I am part of this community and feel my role on the school board is to be a voice for parents, students, and staff. If elected I will continue to act with utmost integrity, listening to all sides while engaging with all stakeholders, asking question to better understand concerns and considerations, and advocate for change with action as opposed to reaction.
